excellent After two weeks spent in Vegas, back to real life is difficult. I currently going through a mini bad run that will change a lot of things ...
First, I cross a small downswing at online poker. I am negative 10 wineries from the beginning of May Nothing too alarming except that I probably lost at least one or two wineries because of the tilt. Yet it is something that I had saved enough lately. But what happened after a tilt series of events this weekend.
First, I lost 4 caves in GTC HU after a few bad beats and bad set-ups Friday night. Saturday, I attempted a $ 16 rebuy tournament qualifier for a super satellite that could take me to the 2009 WSOP main event. A 20 left, I'm chip leader with 2x wide average when I fall in the average after I got impaled on my opponent (once played very poorly on my part in passing). Then, 6 or 7 hands later, I find myself with
the big blind. I 3-bet a button raise, I call for a near-perfect flop:
. I continue to bet, he raises me up, I call. We're going to box on the river (no additional heart) and I get out of the tournament (17th place) facing
.
From 'chip leader' to 'out' in a round table, I'd never been there ...
Saturday night, I decided to go to Uriage with 1010 € I have left in Vegas (the rest was deposited into an account). I cellar to 300 € on "300" (Blind 2 € -4 €, mini cellar at 300 €, max € 1500). The evening begins rather well because I discover
first hand. I destack a small rug on this one. Then the nightmare begins.
I did trap a player I'm a slight tilt (he was Moreover, certainly) and I impale myself with my top-pair top-kicker on its
. I rebuy at 300 €.
Then I lost a pot to 800 €. I made great confidence in my reading, but my top pair good kicker-(with
) gets screwed on the river on board
(carpet on the turn facing
). This may seem suicidal to leave in such a big pot with a hand as marginal (and more I'm out of position) but I trusted my read and it was good (another player was in on it I read and saw that his weakness was lying). This coup is clearly EV +, but is subject to very high variance.
I rebuy then my last 410 euros. I'm going to crack
by a set but fortunately, I would not go further than my con-bet the flop because a
came to scare me (and help me save a few euros).
Later, I get again
(the button). That limper before me, I raise to 30 €. Two limpers pay me. Flop:
rather good for me. The limper checked it, I continue to bet 2 / 3 of the pot and I find a payer. Turn:
. My opponent checked, I checked for pot control (JT and trips are in his range) and possibly induction river bluff. River:
. My opponent bets into a pot € 140 200 €. I think that is foldable but here I call. It shows
.
I will conclude the session by sending my last 100 euros
while a raise to 12 € had already been paid 3 times. I found two but paying their
and will be right of me on a board
.
The next day, early afternoon, I landed on a table on the CG HU NL50 PS (as usual), I find an opponent whose style I love the game (very aggro ) but success is definitely there. It greatly affects game and I finally finished on a good old tilt of a family that will cost me (see two) cellar for a total loss of 5 wineries. I decided to stop the damage and get up the table. I am not better, I still think back to last night's loss at Uriage.
I almost lost a monthly salary in two days ...
After careful consideration and with a clear head after I changed the idea, I have more and more afraid of my live bankroll management. I've always been aware of the danger of my management and I have always accepted the fact that I am able to broker. My BR live shows today a little over 3600 € while I'm losing almost € 2,600 since the beginning of the year (I only played 4 sessions!). It's certainly a decision "result oriented" but I have no more desire to go grind the casino tables with a bankroll as lean. I think I would come back occasionally (even less than this time) but without following a bankroll management live apart.
I'll upload my entire bankroll to live my online bankroll. This will allow me to go grind without being too 'scare money' the NL100 HU. I also put myself in any cash game shorthanded, see if I like it and if I manage to reach a positive winrate. Always Online, I think I'm going a little increase my attempts in tournaments. Now that I have made some progress in this style of game, it would be interesting to try my luck a little more often ... Regarding
live, I'll focus a bit on tournaments. I collect my online bankroll, drop the account, I need to participate in a tournament. I would do the same for the few sessions I want to do casino. Soon gain received (if there is gain), I re-transferred to my online bankroll ...
Somehow, I now have a common bankroll for the game live and online play.
