It's official, I cross the biggest bad run of my "career" ... Just after experiencing paradise in Vegas, a sudden descent into hell was waiting for me. I expressed my bad session in Uriage and my slight tilt online 15 days ago in my last article ... This bad pass led me not to sit at a table for a week.
So I returned to online poker the last weekend in the grinda NL100 HU PokerStars. I just straightened the bar but a bad adventure was waiting for this weekend of climbing.
I had planned to pay me a nice little tournament in a casino very nice: a tournament-Up Head's Challes-les-eaux. I will not detail the disappointment of the day vis-à-vis the tournament HU, I detailed in a rant posted on Grenoble Poker. Just know that the tournament HU to 64 players scheduled for Thursday has turned into 8-player tournament spread over two days but we finally found an arrangement when I have played only one match. The organization was in the street on that side.
I will detail in this article what happened during the long hours of waiting (at cash game tables) before playing a hypothetical game of HU. The shots that I played are certainly debatable (as often) but I'm not sure to have them play in a non-profitable.
I lost first my first big pot on a big bluff. I raise
to 18 € the cut-off while no one has opened the pot. The big blind, but rather bad guy who has accumulated a lot of chips (much success) I min-raise to 36 €. I call and the flop comes
. He decides to check and I bet € 42 thinking he has probably missed the flop (I do not see an over-checker pair or a set here). I call. The turn brings a
and check again. I put clearly on AK or AQ with a picnic, I decided to bet € 64 on that loose his hand. But I quickly call. The river brings a
. He checked one last time. I think if my read is good enough to put a small lies down. I bet then 50 € and I call with
.
I think my bet on the turn is bad. I think that check and bet river if the pic does not fall is much better because I would often pay with AK AQ (with pic) on the turn, even more consistent implementation avecune. But what I regret most about this move is that after his turn check, I saw a big force tells of his home. Yet I stayed on my first read.
Later that afternoon, I am facing the same player. I limp in MP
after initial limp in early position. Another player limp and the button raises to 16 €. Callent the blinds, the first limper call, I call also the last AISIN limp. It is 6 to see the flop:
. The small blind checks while the big blind (the player's previous move) released € 12 (Pot = 80 €). The first limper call, I call, the call button while the others also foldent. This short reminds me of a "bet for info" with a hand like
. The turn brings a
. The big blind bets € 36 (Pot = 128 €). This new development confirms my little read: it is not very strong. I decided to restart to 136 € in semi-bluff (gutshot flush draw + overs + 2) and I find myself in heads up against a player who I call pretty quickly. The river is a
and my opponent checks after a little reflection. I then decided to pull the blow by sending my last 130 euros, I call quickly
.
My read was still outstanding (joke!). Even today I find the play of my opponent very strange (for the previous stroke, too) but faced with my hand, there were only like that he could make the capital gain, kudos to him. I'm probably unsuitable for my opponent (but is not result-oriented to reach that conclusion?)
So much for my bluffs. Let's see now the wrong set-up of the session. I limp
the cut-off after a multitudede limpers. The pot is not raised and we see the flop
. Everyone checks to me and I attack the coup to 16 € (pot = 28 €). Call me button and the big blind raises me to 36 €. I call, button fold. The turn brings a
. My opponent checked and I check behind. =
River, my opponent réffléchit, grins, crossing my eyes and finally check. I see that something is wrong but I think I have a lot of value to the lower flush (probable) or fifths (however unlikely). I decide then make a big value-bet at 100 € (pot = 116 €). I reraised, I add my last 60 euros and impale myself on
. I watch helplessly from the chips from my opponent brags having "played this move to perfection" by "doing a good acting", my critical "error on the turn", etc. ... I obviously do not respond and I go to the cashier to rebuy.
I do not like my check on the turn even if the result would have been the same. I think I can do 2 streets of value against a set or two pair with no problem here. So I have to bet turn and river. In fact, I told myself that I would only street value of here and I preferred to make the River. Once the doublet on the board, I do not check behind with the nut flush. I could opt for a value-bet half the pot to fold shove on but not sure I was able to fold ...
Let's add these 3 bad shots in my prints that do not fit in my DD who meet AKX flop in my flops that I do not touch, etc. ... I can console myself with
which are 2 paying for a preflop flop
, I check the flop and put a brick on the turn, I get a fold-General ...
short, all is not well and I found no loss of 850 around € 19:30
after 3:30 of play I go talk to the guys from Grenoble Poker tournaments until the evening was launched, I eat a little and I go back to the table of CG at around 22:30 (I'm still waiting for play my second match of HU). I cellar at 290 € and I will live a session rather difficult even if I'm going to impress me with my mental strength. Before reading the following, you should know that recently, I was increasingly difficult to make laydown .... I actually wrote an article about it a few months ago.
Then I played pretty tight on the table composed of new players, I Recovery
to 20 € the HiJack after a limp. The cut-off call me, the button does the same and limp (which is a full fish) call me too. Not too happy to see so many people in the shot but the flop is good enough:
. The limper checks, I check also with the idea of check-raise semi-bluff if someone wants to move. But the other two players checked as well. The turn is a
. The fish put € 22 (Pot = 86 €), I call for the maximum incentive for players to stay in the game but the cut-off boost to 60 € and the call button. Fold the fish and I finally decided to pay. The river is a
which thus go the possibility of full house. I check the shipping cut-off the mat for 54 € and the send button on his family for 160 €. I réffléchis long, I do violence to accept the reality: I'm beat. I then fold my color and I'm glad to see
(flush) in the cut-off and
(full) in the button.
This may seem an easy fold for most players, but given the difficulty I had to make these laydown before, I am extremely proud of me. Especially since this laydown occurs at a time when I was in high loss (1000 € loss at the time of laydown). This proves to me I was not on tilt and I did well to sit at this table.
few hands later I find myself in a position not easy. While there were 3 to 4 € limpers, the fish (a gentleman 'I know everything' that explains the rest of the table how do play when he plays like shit) decided to resume at 8 € the cut- Off. I found the button with
, I decided to pay only because I see no reason to raise (a limp may be a monster, the fish can play a premium like that). Obviously all limpers pay and we will see the flop:
. Check the entire table, check the fish too, I decided to bet € 18 (Pot = 48 €). It's a bet for value and for info. I do not think the players at the table could exploit this to put information into a bluff. A portion of the table fold up a player who raises to 40 €. The fish took an interminable time before folder (it talks to the raiser who replied very serreine), I decided to fold. The fish then asked his opponent if they beat a pair of 9 (yes, he really hesitate a long time with its pair of 9!). "Of course I beat it," he answers by showing an ace. After negotiating, I manage to make him return his second card was a 2 .... Two pairs so ...
This laydown was simpler than the previous one, but I'm still glad I did.
I'd end up making me Sit'n'Gos several shots that I decide to play hard. I lose the first, I found a double-up with my last 22 euros before finally making me break
by the fish.
A balance sheet to € -1,140 in cash game, it is with immense joy that I manage to collect the only win of the day: there is an arrangement for the HU tournaments, it is reimbursed by the rake the casino and the prize pool we deal between the 4 remaining players. So, it makes me 49 € ! (And yes, the state has taken its charge).
The weekend continued with a few poker games online. Close late Saturday afternoon, I decided to participate in tournaments +0.8 $ 8 $ rebuy on PokerStars. about 1500 players departing for a prize pool of more than $ 42,000 after the rebuy period. I started very well in tournaments miltupliant my starting stack (3000, I took a rebuy input) by 2.5 to a coup by winning preflop (my
hold up against
and
). I should like to chat while enjoying beautiful delivery judsqu'à the end of the rebuy period. I have 30k, so I 'm 2nd in chips and I do not take the add-on. Then, I continue to touch the game, to reach all flops, to suck out my opponents. I'm off-chip leader just before the bubble with 230k while the 2nd has 150k and the average is 35k. The turning point (sign of the cat that flies?) Occurs when I raise
to 2500 (blinds 500-1000) a short stack reraise me with 14k and 2nd in chips at the table call (it has about 80k). The word comes back to me and I decided to reraise all in for deter come play with 3 players at once but I call
with the short stack has
. I pray for my win coin flip against the big stack but it will be full on the flop. I then back down to 130k, I lost a coin flip, I took a room set-up vs. 2pair trips and I find myself at 20 blinds. I let
2 times after a relaunch of a player rather tight (weak?) And I find myself with 13 blinds. I lost a coin flip and ultimately go out of tournaments around the 60th spot. I chatted serious about this tournament but it was not enough. I do not think I made big mistake.
the evening before bed, I start a cash game on NL100 HU. I ended up taking me a nice $ -600 in the ass. Countless set-ups (AQ vs. AK, set against 2 pairs) and bad beats (color cons carpet trips on the turn that ends in full, KK vs. AQ preflop, etc. ...). I manage to spend a coin flip in the middle of it all. Ah yes, I also took a hit'n'run after a bad set-up.
I have lost a lot on the NL100 got the fucking feeling that I dominate my opponent. I really feel like I can dominate the limit but that cat lady blocking my way to grind in peace. Times are tough ...
Since my bankroll live and online now merged (see previous article ), these losses hurt and the move to NL50 not going away if it continues like this.
Hoping to tell you stuff happier next time ...
