This second stay in Vegas longer than the first, was for me confirm that this city is a paradise for me. 24/24 power play, with lots of tight-weak players outplayable galore, it really is bliss!
But this year was also the opportunity to do something other than poker. On one side is a little frustrating, but then again, I enjoyed spending time with my wife, make a short trip outside of Vegas (though it has not managed to go up the Grand Canyon), to relax in the Jacuzzi, I walk on Fremont Street, terrorizing the pool table (I do account number is even more of Paris won the game), lose some of those gains to the pinball museum cons Dav ', etc. ...
So it was a living radically different from that of last year I experienced this time.
At Poker, the record has been extremely positive. I have tested a lot of casinos that I did not test last year. From south to north:
- The Mandalay Bay : A casino spacious and quite nice. The casino hosted a conference of several thousand doctors during our stay, the dead money was insured. We laughed a lot at the tables, the atmosphere was extremely relaxed, even with the dealers.
- Luxor: The poker room is small, the decor not great. I did not really appreciated especially due to a slot that swung the sound of Outlook every 30 seconds.
- Excalibur: The casino has the advantage of offering the cheapest tables in Vegas: $ 0.5 / $ 1 blind. But the electronic system tables is not really horny. A test once in his life but it flies his way.
- The Flamingo : Atmosphere very good child, to limit redneck but very nice anyway. My poor performance in CG in this poker room are that I keep a pretty bad memory, but otherwise it seems pretty cool. We feel that this is the oldest casino on the Strip.
- The Imperial Palace : Ambiance alcohol at least at my table. Yet it was only when I got 20h seated. The poker room is tiny but the waitress are still very sexy. The casino's most 'cheap' the strip and it shows. Not a great memory either (probably due to a very bad session as well).
- The Wynn : certainly the classiest casino in Vegas. Very 'hype', it breathes the dough at all costs. I did not find the poker room exceptional (Neither good nor bad) but the atmosphere in which there is friquée is immersed (slightly) uncomfortable. Otherwise, the blinds are $ 1 $ -3 on the smallest table.
- The Golden Nugget : the only poker room in downtown that I tested. The casino is really nice, the atmosphere is much less "village" in most casinos on the strip. I played blackjack on the edge of the pool with a shark aquarium in the background ... The poker room is very nice, a little apart. Very good memories here.
much for the new casinos that I tested. I also played at the MGM, Bellagio, Treasure Island and the Venetian but those on the already knew. I had a little blurb on each of them in the balance my last trip. The Bellagio has still changed a little since the poker room now offers $ -2 $ 1 tables.
The big surprise of the trip was my tournament results. ITM twice on 3 tournaments played, a win. In short, it was totally unexpected before my departure. I had to make one or two tournaments for fun, but without conviction. I have always proclaimed loudly that I was not a tournament player. I think it's always true, but before leaving, I tried to improve myself, I worked my game besides me Vieto brought a lot of tips to improve my game I put into practice his advice on a few online tournaments before leaving but without much success. In Vegas, I not only practiced this work, but I had success with. Result, I can win a tournament! It's a feeling that I had ever known, and that I would never have known that by not playing cash games. In short, in future, I think I'll continue to do some tournaments because anyway, it's good to be versatile.
My record in tournaments is $ 3790.
In Cash Game, I regret not being able to make several "marathon sessions" from 10 minimum. I made one. I just missed it but hey, it helped me do other stuff. I am very sorry that I hit the (very poorly) played at the Flamingo. Beyond the technical error, I think I addressed the wrong sessions I played at the Flamingo and the Imperial Palace. Before you sit at the table, I knew I'd sessions short because I just wanted to test these casinos without me perpetuate. So, even if technically I played badly and if I ran out of luck, I recorded negative results in these casinos is certainly related to this approach to the table (pressed for time, feeling to rebuild quickly, etc. ...). Next year, if I return to Vegas without my beloved, I think I had more "marathon sessions".
Balance in Cash Games: $ 640.
At game time, I spent 10:30 p.m. at the tables and tournaments 46 hours of cash game tables. It really is not much for a stay of 2 weeks. it's been just over 5:30 to play per day on average.
Regarding accommodations, the Villa was very valuable to relax away from the bustle of the Strip. Although we could not enjoy the pool too, everything was really nice, I note the billiard permit to stay afloat financially (thank you Vieto). The barbecue at the pool will remain a great time shared by all.
By cons, it is quite expensive by taxi, even sharing a taxi to 4. Renting a car is a real plus if you choose this form of accommodation. it increases the budget of a little vacation but with the ease of parking in the casino parking (free), I think it can be a very good solution.
I wait to return!
I hope you enjoyed following our adventures through this blog . Anyway, I enjoyed writing (And I would take great pleasure to read throughout the year until the next trip ...).
